Draugar Ruins Up!

Hi everybody,

the Draugar Ruins release is up!

It is composed of three main parts:

- The Modular OpenLOCK structure. This is a dungeon tiles set with structural parts that can be used to create three dimensional environments. With stairs, arcs and bridges that are compatible with OpenLOCK dimensions you can make a huge variety of locations. From complex dungeon chambers such as the one in the render to sprawling and labyrinthine catacombs, bridges on black chasms, ancient crypts filled with undead waiting motionless in alcoves, even sections of sewers, and so on. The mix of large slabs of stone and brick like rocks should make this set varied enough to be used in many different environments and cultures, especially if painted in different tones. I can picture these ruins being some sort of fantasy proto-Egyptian underground temple as well as fantasy Norse ruins, just by changing the paint style!

Of course this room is huge, and you don't need to start from something this large. Moreover, these tiles can be really chunky if not hollowed, and that is why most of them come with a hollowed option (in case you print them in resin) which I advise using. If you don't like the exposed drainage holes, I suggest printing the split version meant for better playability and assembling that to minimize visible holes. You can also cover them up with green stuff and other hobby materials. More info on the models and how to print this location are in the instruction files.

- Objects and Props. They are highly decorated and have furnished and unfurnished options, and these can find a place in most dungeons that feature rock and stone (e.g. I think that they combine really well with the objects and props from the Druid Grove release). I took inspiration from Skyrim to model them (you can spot some easter eggs in there): there are weapons, scrolls, pottery, tombs, altars and plinths with a crystal option to stage traps and dungeon mcguffins, as well as the sleeping draugars waiting for careless adventurers to wake them!

- The Arcs. These are a small addition that can be used to make a memorable dungeon entrance, a dungeon room centerpiece (such as in the render), or as a backdrop for some wilderness encounter right below ancient ruins. They have heights that are compatible with OpenLOCK tiles, so you can play around with these pieces and make complex structures including bridges and stone arcs were characters can run and chase enemies - one step closer to fall into the abyss.

You should have access to all the models in your library, let me know if you have any problem in accessing them!

That's it for now. I had a few setbacks during test printing, hence the late release, but everything is printing perfectly now, which is what matters most :) I really like the final look - especially of the objects and props, love those, I am printing a whole bunch - I hope you like what you see too!

I am already working on the Wizard Tower coming this October, but before then I'll be back with the poll for November.

That's it for now. Thanks a lot for the support, especially in late months such as this one. I wish you a happy hobby time! :D
