The Moose Rest Taphouse!

Hi everybody,

the Moose Rest Taphouse is up! The set is made of two main parts:

- Taphouse Modular OpenLOCK Structure. This building was designed with a lot of overhangs, balconies and other options that where missing from previous releases. They are compatible with other OpenLOCK buildings I released, although textures are always getting updated for a greater quality (and these are very high detail!).

The taphouse has a ground and an upper level as well as an option for a wall extension (with magnets &/or barbeque skewers) to make the overhangs work in a more stable manner. You can stack as many layers/levels as you want, and the structure shown in the render is, of course, just one of the endless structures (smaller and larger) that you can make with this set. Also, the Wall OpenLOCK tiles come with a split option for playability.

As always, the roofs prove to be the trikiest part to design and to print. On the design side: the roof is the less modular bit (it would be extremely time consuming to make roofs that work with any customized shape of the building below), but there is a partial solution to that issue, which is the kitbashing set coming soon. On the printing side: I put barbeque skewer channels in the beams to make the roofs easier to assemble and more stable, but you'll probably still need a source of heat to bend them to the correct shape depending on how much your resin and prints warp (more on that in the instructions coming soon).

- Taphouse Objects & Props. With furnished and unfurnished options. This set has various tables and shelves with different assortments of taphouse related objects on them as well as a throwing axe stand, a fireplace (that combines into the roof), the moose trophy that gives the taphouse its name, and more. The renders show them all better than words can. With these models I wanted to make variants of already existing sets with updated textures, as well as a few pieces that were missing (large counter, large fireplace) from in previous releases. I think variety adds believability to ttrpg buildings (if you obsess on these details like I do at times!), especially in a time where presumably people wouldn't have set of twenty exactly identical tables to furnish their tavern, so this set should help with that :)

Of course, this is not just a taphouse. These tiles can be used to make any medieval building. They can be used to make a guild hall, an artisan workshop, a house (of poor folk if small, rich if large), a constabulary station as you suggested, and so on. If it makes sense made in wood, you can build it with these tiles. I really like the final look of the whole thing, and I can't wait to see what buildings you create with this set :)

In a couple of days I will be posting the kitbash set and the building instructions for the tavern. The lists are already up, but I need some time to lay out the pdfs and images in a comprehensible way. Soon later, I will post the poll for October (Draugr Ruins coming in September!). If you like these kind of buildings and want to see some of them specifically come to life, let me know below (I am thinking about something like a House of Coin from BG3, maybe an hospital ward..?).
