The Spider Den #1

Hi everybody,

the first part of the release is out! Three sets are currently part of the release:

- Spider Prey. There is no better way to enhance the horror of a giant spider fight than showing off its prey, and these can also be used for Mirkwood or Cirith Ungol inspired encounters (I first wrote inspider, Freudian slip). To make these easier to print and use I put them on a dirt and rock solid ground: just sand down the support cones (if any) and they can be placed anywhere on your battlemats. In case you want more versatility there are also "free" versions of them, as well as hanging ones. These can be printed and placed as is or glued to other terrain to create the iconic spider larder look.

- Spider Eggs. Much like the set above, this one comes with a "grounded" and a "free" version. These are large, bombastic and very high fantasy, and I love that look. Just imagine what kind of sea-of-spiders-horror could come out of the gargantuan egg, or maybe just a huge Helldivers like specimen (yeah, the games I'm thinking about always show up in these posts). The groundless version of these eggs are also perfect for basing and customizing any terrain that need a subterranean/alien twist!

- Dark Elven Shire Objects & Props. This one started as an "architecture/ruins" project, but once I designed the columns and the spider-legs-like decorations I decided to move towards scatter terrain that could use those feature more, and that could complement the rest of the set. You can find altars, cages, plinths, weapons, scrolls and more. While designing this I tried to give a few ways for characters/NPCs to interact with the environment. Imagine an arachnomancer that opens the hatches mid fight to reveal the spider eggs and burst them open, or the ritual bowls from the altar gathering the blood of a webbed victim, ready to be taken and carried away to fuel the darker ritual in the next chamber. Or the cages (with a removable top) hosting prisoners that characters have to save, and again the stands with crystals that give energy to some magical hazard or traps that wreaks havoc in the room of the fight! There are many pieces to play with, and are hopefully food for imagination to create memorable encounters :)

I wasn't expecting this to become my favorite part of the set, but that's definitely the case: I can't wait to bring my players to some dark elven dungeon and show off these models!
