Poll for January
Added 2023-11-08 17:33:33 +0000 UTCHi everybody,
I want to hear from you while I work on December’s Hawkstone Pass. The new entry to the poll is once again something that has been asked a lot: the Cathedral! This set will aim heavily on a grim dark vibe - I’m taking inspiration from Mordheim, Diablo and everybody’s favorite grim dark future setting. Since there is the cathedral & the cultist objects and props, it should give enough variation to be a useful release for many tables. Also, I’ll stay away from the cross pattern to make it more fantasy and less obviously European-medieval.
This is not the only option though: vote the one you want to see next!
The Cathedral of the Martyr. The open rib cageibcage of the Cathedral of the Martyr towers over Ellirmilborg’s ruins. Even though the town is an abandoned carcass of war, people whisper that at night travelers can spot fires lighting its broken arches. - This set will contain a gothic temple/church with a central nave, side aisles and a second balcony/floor. The aim of the set will be to give both OpenLOCK & non-OpenLOCK parts to build a modular fantasy church (at least modular in length and height, let’s see if there is enough time to make it larger too). The objects and props will be different from the church overall style: a dark cult claimed its ruins, and brought in its evil practices. Finally, I’ll make a kit bash set with parts of the church in case you want to print them for other hobby/foam projects.
The Nautiloid Sanctum. Walls of flesh pulse like the heartbeat of a gargantuan creature: its organs are carved into rooms, its tissues into tables and menacing pods. Something moves inside these living tanks. - Mind flayer themed objects and props with pods, vats, psy-cannons and other living flesh contraptions. There should also be an OpenLOCK set to make nautiloid rooms, but that depends on the volume of scatter terrain, which is the main part of the release.
Hell's Port. A host of parrots greets the ships coming to port. They laugh and taunt the weary sailors, but they're ready to flee at the sight of a gun. For Hell's Port is a place of pirates: gunpowder and bullets are its currency. - This set will contain modular wooden docks (with barnacled and sea-claimed parts), a kingpost crane and a fisherman/raider small ship (slightly smaller than the viking ship size).
The Siege Tower. The sound of battle cries, orders and the clashing of swords fill the air. Catapults and ballistas spit their death on the town’s wall, but the eyes of the besieged widen in fear at the sight of the towers: slow but steady, approaching the bastions with their load of screaming foes. - A modular siege tower that can also be built as a solid wooden outpost. Objects and Props will contain anything useful in a siege and a few customization options to change the siege engine to non-human races (I’m thinking orcs, inspired by that iconic Pelennor look!).
Hell! Scourging heat and blood-chilling wails: there is no mistaking the smell of sulfur and desperation that pollutes the air. We are in hell… - Jagged rocks, runic stones and devilish bone-structures: everything that you’d expect in fantasy hellish planes. With an Oblivion style portal to the lower hells!
The Blueteeth Tribe Camp. When the sun fades, the cries and laughter of the Blueteeth Camps can be heard from a great distance. Their brawling contests are as legendary as their skill in hunting, which are proven by the gargantuan corpses from which they build their homes. This fame alone is strong enough to dissuade lesser tribes from battling them. - A barbarian camp with tents and huts made from the remains of giant beats: ribcages, horns and hides. To furnish them, hunting objects and props as well as the everyday life items of the barbarians.
The Pyramid of the Sun. Many steps lead to the Altar of the Sun where the high priest communes with the Gods. Below, in the depth of the pyramid, many treasures sacred to the Serpent, the Lotus and the Macaw are guarded by silent wardens. - A mesoamerican pyramid (OpenLOCK set) with playable interiors and ritual objects and props, as well as its secret treasures and its stone snake wardens.
The Temple of Flowing Sand. A lonely temple in a valley of dead kings, resting for eternity. The sea of sand flows free between its colonnades. They say that in its deepest chamber the high priestess is still pondering the sky. - Ancient Egyptian style temple (OpenLOCK) with a decorated entrance, funerary objects and props, obelisks and colonnades.
Al'Nab, the Oasis. Thirsty and famished travelers often end up in Al'Nab with a sigh of relief. Although its name may seem ominous - the Tusk - it is a peaceful place... as long as you stay in your tent at night. - A fantasy Persia themed set, with a modular bazaar (OpenLOCK set), its precious contents as Objects and Props, and camels!
The Labyrinth. A thin rope made of red silk. "If you lose this, you will be lost." They ventured between the towering rock walls of the house of Asterius, never to be seen again. - A greek-style labyrinth terrain (OpenLOCK set), with Greek themed objects and props and the lair of the Minotaur! The Avrean Oracle is a good example of its style.
That’s it! I’ll be collecting the results on the 20th.
Also, if you have trouble accessing the files or you didn’t receive a message from MMF to redeem them, send me a dm and I’ll sort it out :)
May the best location win!
Thank you for the support, and I wish you a happy hobby time!

The Cathedral is coming in January! December will be Hawkstone Pass, which is almost ready - should have a WIP render up tonight. In the Cathedral set, windows and doors are definitely a thing I am going to make: they should help with kitbashing. Also, I think they help a lot to give the cathedral vibe to battle-maps even as stand alone pieces if people use them without walls. Should be fun!

2023-11-28 09:34:47 +0000 UTCFor December, you are going to do The Cathedral of the Martyr right? With the kit bash pieces, are you going to have windows and doors? Those are the things I use the most in my own builds and getting them made of MDF is really expensive.
