[TS3] Catalog Search Mod

Here's a little mod that simply adds a "Search" button to Buy and Build mode. It looks through both the catalog name and description of objects.
It adds a little button on the catalog that looks like this:
Pressing it will prompt you to type in your search query.
Upon accepting, the catalog will be filtered by your search query!
Installation
Simply drop the package into your "Documents/Sims 3/Mods/Packages" folder.
Tuning
Inside of the package file you can find the Tuning XML. Only one setting is available for this mod, "kIncludeDescriptionsInSearch", which simply determines if the catalog description of objects should be taken into account when searching. Set to "True" by default.

Stumbled upon this mod today and got VERY excited to try it out, as it fixes the biggest problem I have with TS3. Installed it, loaded my game, and... clicking the search button does nothing. It makes a click noise, but no search dialog pops up. Not sure if something broke in the last few months, but... hopefully there's a fix, or maybe another mod this depends on to work?
2023-11-06 03:08:29 +0000 UTCGamefreak is working on a better mod for searching not just Buy/Build but a lot of other modes. I won't be updating my own mod, as his is basically the superior version, it's not out yet however.

2023-04-28 19:29:27 +0000 UTCHi LD, I'm trying out your search mod now and I have to say I'm impressed! I'm so happy it shows up on both 'By Function' and 'By Room' and in Build mode! Is it suppose to work in Collections too? The magnifying glass shows up but the items don't filter.

I'm going to test it in live. I would love a mod for the manipulation and modulation of the roofs and foundations like in sims 4! without changing the graphics!
