Plans for 10.5 (and the Rest of Chapter 11)

Greetings! The last post was about wrapping up 10.4, so now it's time to talk about 10.5 and the next few releases. Let's begin!

10.5 Plans & Progress

Planning for 10.5 is complete, and work on it has begun. 10.5 is meant to flesh out the Commercial District, add some (hopefully) fun sidequests and locations, and to fill out a few plot points that will become relevant later on. (No H-scenes in 10.5. But 10.6 will have one!) 10.5 should only involve two quests: the confrontation between Emily and the Kittens, and another from the orcs' intel organization. These are both sidequests, obviously, but I think they'll be worthwhile.

First, the Emily-Kittens quest. After going back and forth over the story a few times, I've finally settled on one I like and have been at work implementing it. It will see 2 more buildings open (the comic shop and the bar,) will involve fetching some items, a mini-dungeon-ish area, a boss fight, several cutscenes, seeing a few old friends, and a possibly heartwarming end. Haven't quite settled on the quest reward yet, but it will probably be a new weapon for Emily. I'm working on the dungeon-type thing right now, and once that's done I'll move on to writing.

Next is the (second) intel agency quest. Not going to say much about this one, since it's supposed to be a surprise. I know generally where I want to go with it, but haven't yet hashed out the details. The whole point of this quest is to shine more light on a character you already know, one who will become fairly important at the end of the Zameroth storyline.

Neither quest will be obscenely long, and I'm making a great effort to avoid overstuffing them with cutscenes.

Aside from the quests, 10.5 will probably see a few more buildings open: the cafe, that weird building in the back, the fortune teller, and maybe the pet shop. Most of these are just intended to be fun places without any relevance to the overall plot (the weird building being an exception.)

There haven't been any bug reports yet, so I'm not sure if there's going to be a 10.4.1. I'd originally planned to make some changes to the save system and release that as 10.4.1, but I might just kick that can down the road. Keeping the story rolling is more important than writing plugins and such that aren't strictly necessary.

The Rest of Chapter 11

Not going into great detail here so as not to spoil anything, but as of right now, this is what the rest of Chapter 11 will look like:

• 10.5 (next release): Filling Out Commercial District

• 10.6: Val H-scene (and maybe a mini-date?)

• 10.7: Meeting Bloodfist (will probably feature new ability quests)

• 10.8: Pre-Dungeon Party (Val's birthday party, perhaps)

• 10.9: Another H-scene (already have a plan for it, but not going to give it away yet!)

• 10.10: Bloodfist dungeon (the beginning)

• 11.0: Bloodfist dungeon (the end, and what comes after)

Conclusion

So, 10.5 is planned out and work is underway. Aside from that, I've been working on some new 3D/art skills I plan to use for the 10.6 scene with Val. That's all I have for this time - thank you for your support!
