Please do not begin new pledges (or upgrade existing pledges) from within Patreon's iOS app. Beginning yesterday, any pledges started within the iOS app will incur an additional 30% fee - every month - which goes directly to Apple (not me, and not Patreon.) If you want to start a new pledge on an iPhone/iPad, please go to Patreon's website using Safari and start it there. This will not incur the 30% fee.

You can still use the iOS app to keep up with your creators, view their posts, message them, etc. without incurring the fee - it's only the act of making a pledge to a creator within the app that tacks on an extra 30%.

Making a pledge through the iOS app (and paying an extra 30% to Apple) puts you in Apple's billing system, not Patreon's. This can make it easier to manage and cancel your subscriptions, but Patreon makes that pretty easy anyway. Maybe the convenience is worth an extra 30% for some people, but I just wanted to make everyone aware of this.
