The Proteus Effect 10.4 is Released!

Greetings! 10.4 is finally complete, and I'm very pleased to share it with you! Before we get into what it includes, here are the links:

10.4 is a somewhat unusual release. It does not include an H-scene. In fact, it only really includes 2 events: the Commercial District reopening ceremony (and tour) and the date with Ana. Even so, the story events themselves will probably take over 1.5 hours to get through, and if you go around and talk to everyone, it'll probably take between 2-2.5 hours. In addition, there are two basic outcomes and several different conversation paths in the date, so if you want to explore all those, you'll have to replay it a few times. You could spend considerably longer than 2.5 hours playing, depending on how much of a completionist you are.

Before you start playing, though, I'd recommend talking to the sheep in the Recollection Room. This release is the first one that uses the Relationship Plugin under the hood, and talking to the sheep will make sure a few past events (that weren't recorded properly) are in line with what you want. This is only to fix old saves; if you start a new game in 10.4 you won't see the sheep (too bad, the conversation is sort of amusing.)

One more thing - the opportunity to ask Ana out depends on your relationship with her. It isn't a very high bar to clear, but if you haven't done a fair number of relationship-building things with her, you won't see it. If you later do have enough relationship, just walk by the restaurant in the Commercial District and you should have the opportunity. Val will also react a little differently at a few points depending on your relationship with her.

A number of buildings aren't open yet, but many are - so have fun and explore! The rest should open in 10.5. If you notice any bugs or anything, please let me know. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your support!
