Update your Spellbook: This Month's Riveting Rubrics Revealed!

Pull out your quills, stir your inks and ritually sacrifice your homunculi - time to update your spellbooks with this month's spells!

Rats!

Long gone are the days where Druids and Rangers watched wistfully on, as Wizards and the like conjured magic shields from thin air, increasing their AC by ludicrous amounts and escaping multi-bladed onslaughts unscathed.
Rats! allows you to use your reaction to turn into a swarm of rats and skitter-scuttle into safety, your polymorphed form possibly taking the brunt of the attack, as a swarm of rats is resistant against piercing, slashing and bludgeoning damage! A flavourful choice for every upstart gutter-monarch!

These spells will appear shortly within the Beneos Search Engine, accessible via Foundry or on our website!

Magma Prison

If you fought against the Magma Dragon or even a Forge Devil and wondered how it must feel to control this molten planetary lifeblood, we have great news for you! Using Magma Prison, you are able to enclose your annoying neighbor, who's tacky wizard tower is blocking out the afternoon sun,  within a sphere of molten rock, dealing eye watering amounts of fire damage every turn and possibly dissolving him upon falling unconscious. Not all of you will be able to master this 8th-level evocation, but those that do will have the time of their lives.

The Forge Devil was very keen on us including Magma Prison, as its one of his favorites!

Detonate

Detonate is easier to master and possibly even more fun to use. Do you see that object over there? Do you want to not see it anymore? Done. This spell just instantly blows up non-magical objects that arent worn or carried, starting with humble medium or smaller objects, but allowing you to blast bigger and bigger objects to smitherens using higher spell slots. In the end, you'll  be able to blow up gargantuan objects, dealing a handful of d12's worth of damage in a respectable area. However, the damage is only a secondary aspect of the spell, as its utility can't be overstated. It is also very therapeutic to use!

You can simply drag the spells into your character sheet within Foundry!

Gunpowder Cloud

Still waiting for Level 5 so you can finally, finally cast fireball? Try Gunpowder Cloud instead. Using only a level 2 slot, you'll be able to summon a cloud of gunpowder, obscuring sight and generally being a nuisance for everyone within the area. Should this cloud come in contact with an open flame, it will immediately combust and deal respectable damage to everyone in range. It requires a bit more setup and concentration to uphold the spell, but a huge explosion is a worthy reward for adepts of the evocative arts!

Per our last announcement, we are going to release four homebrew spells per month! These spells are integrated into Foundry using the new all-encompassing Beneos Module and can be downloaded or  printed as high-quality item cards for your table games via an updating printable pdf.
