Happy summer solstice!

Hello everyone and happy (late) summer solstice! We've been out of the ice and "our" bay for couple weeks now. If you missed the previous update about the ice break-up it is here:

We've been extremely busy as our friend Kuutti and Auni joined us for a while right after we got out of the ice. We expected to be out of our bay a bit earlier so this visit came really quickly. We spent a lot of time preparing the boat and getting rid of our extra equipment (we sold some of the extra shorelines and diesel cans etc in Sisimiut).

This week we anchored the boat at the end of one of the fjords here and went on a 4 day paddling+hiking trip deep inland. The photos here some of our camping spots and the scenery. It was an incredible trip, a bit rough going first as we waded and paddled our way upstream for one full day. The highlight was catching my an arctic char in the lake, a complete surprise since the season for the char only starts in a few weeks. The negative surprise was that the mosquitoes are already out in force! Luckily we managed to find windy camping spots for most of the nights...

We will be heading back to Sisimiut where Nova is scheduled for a checkup and spay (sterlizing) at the end of this coming week, and then we'll need to spend another week in the town in case there's any complications. There is no animal veterinarian here normally and there's only a visiting vet that comes in every now and then, so we need to get this done now.
