Elena did stab her in the back but when she was being nice about her mothers necklace, etc, that was still Elena being genuinely empathetic and caring, she only stabbed her in the back because of the plan and then gave her back to Klaus. Rebekah’s been stabbed in the back multiple times but is only super hateful towards Elena for it and for so long, just toying with her. Also the fact that Rebekah actually killed Elena and now she’s become the one thing she never wanted to be, a vampire. Elena doesn’t even hate her for that, she hates her because Rebekah keeps being a mean girl to her basically. Like everyone in this town has done something mean to each other but Rebekah won’t drop it with Elena like she does with everyone else, which is weird especially when Elena actually had empathy towards Rebekah unlike the other characters who have done Rebekah wrong, they had no care towards her.

However, at this point of the show, Stefan just wants to make sure Elena can survive by not killing anyone because we all know if Elena kills someone by accident she won't be able to take it. Stefan just wants to make sure she does not carry around that guilt.

Stefan looks at Elena as if she’s sick and needs fixing, as he himself hates vampirism due to what it does to him. While Damon looks at her the same way he did before she turned, and as a strong individual who should revel in her newfound self just as he does. I really do love the writing

Elena has been going to Damon for a long time now especially when Stefan was away and has been her support for awhile so I don't think that bond will just disappear because she is back with Stefan. I agree with you on the Tyler situation.

2024-08-11 18:53:18 +0000 UTCyeah i rlly rlly see what youre saying. rebekah and elena are both in my top 5 so i just understand both sides very well and i get why one doesn't like the other (*SPOILERS* love their little thelma and louise arc later in the season though). and i like stelena but much prefer her with damon mostly because of how it did seem like stelena was no longer compatible and how elena was just holding on just to hold on. who are your top 5? mines gotta be elena, hayley, klaus, rebekah, bonnie (i know its a very unpopular opinion to have elena first lmaoo)

2024-08-11 18:21:30 +0000 UTC(sooo sorry for this long essay lol). i also get what you're saying! i do feel like one of the main reasons she picked stefan on the bridge and stayed with him in season 4 is because of the expectations of others. i think that she doesn't want to be seen as a bad person and feels like by staying with stefan she will still be respected by her friends as it was "the right thing to do/pick". bonnie, caroline, and matt don't care for damon that much or at all, and they've already been slightly judgey when it comes to her kissing damon, hanging out with him, or talking about him. elena loves being caring and she deeply cares about the opinions of others. she probably feels that by picking damon, she will be looked down upon and be considered not so nice for picking the "bad guy/boy". (not saying she feels like this in a selfish way, but more of a "i'll let everyone down" way). another part of it is, stefan is sort of a crutch for her. she latched onto him after the death of her parents and she's hesitant to let him go. this is why in season 3, she was so adament on looking for stefan and knowing he's alive, even if it risked her life. it was only when stefan said he didn't want to be with her, was killing people, and kept expressing that he wasn't coming back to her, did she allow herself to feel drawn to and get closer to damon. however, immediately after she saw a glimmer of the old stefan again, she wanted to fight for him again like after the ball when she kept pushing for him to share his feelings. after she saw that stefan was still in there, she was then conflicted because something had started with damon but the real stefan was back. so all of that and the expectations are why i do sort of understand why she stayed with him as long as she did. like she said to damon "he came into my life at a time when i needed him and i fell for him instantly. no matter what i feel for you, i never unfell for him". BUT once she becomes a vampire, her feelings are heightened, and the *spoiler* is revealed, i think thats when it became easier for her to admit how she really felt. i love delena but i don't think she would have let herself admit it/leave stefan until the *spoiler* pushed those feelings to the surface and made it harder to ignore. as for rebekah vs elena, i do see what you're saying about elena acting innocent in comparison to rebekah. i think elena sees it (not saying she is right) like: "i daggered rebekah so klaus could die and we, mostly stefan, could all be free. rebekah also wants klaus dead so in the end this is what she wants. it didn't work, and i feel very bad, but at least rebekah didn't actually die. rebekah killed me, the man who is like a father to me (even though he was already gone), and almost killed my childhood bestfriend/ex on the bridge my parents died on. she's a bad person". so i feel like she's looking at it like yes its my fault she doesn't like me, but shes still here and i just did what her brother does to her constantly, she is immortal. what rebekah did, justifiably from becks pov, had lasting effects (dead alaric, vampire elena). so thats why shes acting all "yeah i did that BUT you did something worse" (like how kids fight lol) with rebekah even though they both did things to the other that aren't very great (but justified in their eyes). i really want them to be friends though lol, they are pretty similar in some ways.

I do look at all points of view, and I do try to give Elena some slack in my head, but it doesn't help when she does this or says this and does the complete opposite. I just feel like Elena is playing this innocent girl with Rebekah when she is ultimately the reason Rebekah doesn't like her. Plus Elena should realize that Rebekah did what she had to do to protect her family, since Elena did the exact same thing when she literally daggered her from the back her to protect her friends. Another point to where Elena should understand what Rebekah did, but doesn't at all. Also, yea her thinking and feelings about Damon could be about the "spoiler" and could be playing a part, but Elena has been feeling Damon since season 3 episode 1, so I just think Elena is just stringing Stefan along all this time and doesn't want to betray Stefan and admit what she really wants

There's a reason why Stefan reached out to Caroline and not Elena. He said that Caroline reminds him of Lexi. They have that bond of being themselves around each other.

2024-08-11 17:31:49 +0000 UTCi mean if someone killed you and you lost the opportunity to have kids like you've always wanted, you can be a bit mad at them lmao (rebekah had her reasons, she was saving her family, but try to also see elena's pov as the person who died. everyone is the hero/good guy of their own story). not saying elena is a saint and rebekah is horrible, i like them both in their own ways, but lets also remember her emotions are heighted, she's greiving yet another person (a father figure), and she's now dead. lets give her a bit of a pass here. also lets remember that *SPOILERS* she has a sire bond to damon at this point. her thinking about damon may not be entirely her fault. she was under wolf venom, not having full on wet dreams on purpose while in the bed with stefan. we saw rebekah hallucinate about killing matt, but we know that she actually likes him. once again, not saying elena is completely innocent, but you can cut her a bit of slack. seems like you are complaining about elena under almost every ep, it can be good to use a bit of perspective (not being rude).

She gets jealous/mad at Rebekah’s comments about Stefan, and then mad at Alarics comment and proceeds to throw a pencil at Rebekah which does nothing and then she gets the pencil thrown back at her and gets mad at her and wants to kill her💀. Plus why does she think she can kill Rebekah and everything will be fine. Stefan was right to call her out on it. Also, she is still thinking about Damon when being when Stefan. She is just playing with Stefan at this point.
