CHAPPiE Project

The model, renders and tutorial is finally finished.
Whole project took me more that 300 hours, which were divided into 2 months.
It was a big challange and giant project, and have learnt a lot through it. I have made a lot of renders, and animations. Which of, I got into a very passionate process and I have got too many ideas where Chappie could have take a place. But I had to choose only few, because manual keyframing takes a lot of time to get it into the point where it looks good.
Well, let me tell you something about the whole project! :]
- This is one of my first tests I have made just after finished modeling and texturing, so you can see that the cables are missing :/ The textures were not completely finished at this point, I was still missing the dirt and spots with a lot of imperffections. The background is just a photoscan from sketchfab, with a very easy light setup consisting of 2 Area lamps.

- This was my second attempt with a Chappie model. I wanted to recreate the scene where he stole GTR, but I did not really get back into it. Just want to show you more indepth about this whole project.

- This one is one of my most favourite pieces. It has a kind of a poster look, and the composition works very well. especially thanks to a great idea of putting a chicken beside a character, which very well helps to fill the scene and add more character to it. And as you can see they have something in common. There is a lot of compositing in this scene, and that is one of the key things why it appeals more natural and pleasing than the other scenes.

- After I finished all the details on the character, I wanted to experiment with colors and textures to create a different character. Basically an early version of a Gangsta Mom. It was very fun. Especially the compositing, since the whole thing is just a lot of layers assembled with some abstract overlay.

- I wanted to make kinda unique renders and versions compare to the movie, so I have decided to create some extra emotions, and I have added a personality to the character with some stickers and scribbles. Here is the final animation.

- This is an unfinished scene, and I was planning it to be one of the shots for a "Police Officer's playing Nerf". I loved the concept, but I did not really know how it is going to be structured.
