GM Notes: Folk, Form, Phenomena

Hello, Realmers! (and people taking a peek at our Patreon--hi! 👋)

Jesse here, with some notes about our latest one-shot. I know they're a little later than normal, but I've been pretty busy these days! Plus, I think having them go up on the off Tuesday is kind of nice. That way, you get a fresh dose of Many Realms each and every week! Maybe I'll keep this schedule for the future--what do you think?

Anyway, there are a couple of interesting things to share for this episode. As I mentioned, I wanted to share the map from the game for anyone interested, since it might help people understand the episode a little bit more. Check it out!

I labelled it as much as I could, and we also had a bit of fun decorating it as we went. I love when games produce artifacts that you can look back on later, and "Kawaii Five-0" will definitely stick in my mind for some time to come.

And as a little bonus tidbit: you may have caught that I wrote the descriptions for each of the factions the cast played, like the Truthies or the Mendez family. But did you know that I wrote an additional faction which didn't get selected? Here it is:

Now, everyone knows that when an animal is acting up, it’s best to contain it from the general public. And who else but a licensed (?) conservation (?) and entertainment (?) facility would be equipped to house this noble critter? Of course, the millions in revenue such a creature might generate are certainly a key consideration--we know you’re no fool, we’re a business at the end of the day--but we think if we throw in a couple of season passes to Wiley’s Wonders, you’ll come around to our line of thinking.

It's definitely one of the more sinister factions (though I tried to make sure each one was ultimately self-interested or defensive), so maybe that's why it didn't make the cut. But it's always fun to imagine how the episode would have played out with some kind of feisty poacher-type characters!
