Dialogue variables get synced and injected in the Database based on outside factors.
In this case: find and meet new NPCs, detecting your Patron Level and based on that give specific quests, answers, etc.

It gives you more flexibility in the HWS Universe and even some good incentives to help new players on Starter planets.
With a little money sink you just have to make sure your inventory is empty - otherwise it will get wiped during the process. 😏
